Last week a question came up from the parent of a non-resident student regarding the transportation of her/his child. They asked the KWRL Coop to establish a new bus stop well beyond the bus stop closest to the Woodland School District boundary. Consistent with long-standing practice, KWRL offered to allow the student to access school bus transportation from the nearest bus stop.
In reviewing this situation it appears that policy is silent on this issue. The requested modification to Policy 3141 adds two sentences to identify this practice. Also added is a footnote that does allow for a few, very rare, exceptions.
