RE: Woodland Intermediate Report

  • Woodland Intermediate has adopted The BFG by Roald Dahl for our Woodland Reads book. We had an all school assembly on September 28th where students listened to the first chapter of the book and received their very own copy and bookmark. Every day students are assigned pages and have the opportunity to answer questions about the book. Giant brag tags are hung outside the winning class doors.
  • Our annual PTSA Walk a Thon was a soggy success. Students weathered the rain and walked for 30 minutes during their specials. Miss Rebstock’s 2nd grade class, Miss Canby’s 3rd grade class, and Ms. Churchman’s 4th grade class all won an ice cream party for walking the most laps. The Pizza/Limo reward lunch for kiddos who raised $100 or more on the Walk-a-Thon Fundraiser will be on November 8th. These funds provide classroom grants for our teachers.
  • The principal and two teachers attended the annual WAETAG Gifted conference last weekend in Bellevue. We have a core group of teachers that have stepped up and are excited to serve our gifted population. A parent night is scheduled for next month where teachers will be explaining our program at WIS.
  • WIS had its first award assembly celebrating our The Leader in Me Habit to Be Proactive. Students were presented a certificate and presented with a brag tag for their lanyard.
