Culinary students have completed their knife skills and are starting on their sauce unit. Hollandaise sauce has been this week’s target culminating in eggs benedict being made.

In Early Childhood Education, students have prepared their classroom using a Moana theme and have met each of the preschool classes. They are currently learning about the impact of art on brain development of young children. Students are preparing for connect night in the high school where they will be doing free childcare.

SkillsUSA students and Mrs. Miller will be attending the Fall Kick Off at Fort Vancouver on Saturday the 20th. On November 1st -3rd, Mrs. Miller will be taking her officers to a leadership training at Cispus.

The metals classes have been working on the rat rod and are getting closer to having a rolling vehicle. They have also put wheels on all of the library and staff room tables.

Auto classes are rebuilding three different engines and have been working on staff vehicles.

Congratulations to our floral students and Mrs. Pearce! Samantha Ripp, Angelica Gudmundson, and Ciarra Hatman placed 2nd in the 2nd Annual Floral Chopped Invitational in Portland on Friday, October 5.

Comments were made by staff and designers alike on their level of professionalism, teamwork, and skill throughout the competition. Several of their designs were displayed last week in the high school, as part of the competition had a homecoming theme.

Mrs. Pearce was proud of the work, leadership, and good-sportsmanship they displayed throughout the competition.
