Interim assessment use at Yale is starting this month and serves as a learning tool for teachers and students. Our teachers utilize the block assessment items as teaching tools. This gives students exposure and experience with the rigor of the Smarter Balanced Assessment. In addition, it enables teachers to see the rigor of the standards to apply to their everyday teaching. It is our hope that instruction will be refined and students will feel comfortable and confident when our Spring SBAC window arrives.
Conferences were a big success we had almost 100% attendance! Report cards are being prepared and will go home prior to Winter Break.
Our food service manager Laura graciously put on a fine dining event for every student at Yale. Laura gave a lesson to each classroom about dining etiquette prior to the event. Students walked into a cafeteria that displayed linens, flowers, and a three course meal. Our students were excited and did a wonderful job with their table manners.
