North Fork Elementary Report

Our Veteran’s Day Assembly was an amazing celebration by students and staff. Linda Morris, our music teacher created a program that highlighted each branch of service and recognized the veterans in the audience. Staff donated funds to give each veteran a special gift, a loaf of pumpkin bread baked by our cook, Lucy Dooley. Our technology teacher, Danielle Flanagan, compiled a slide show that honored our students’ family members that were veterans. It was an event that showcased the respect and passion of North Fork Elementary
North Fork Elementary is in the process of updating and remodeling our library to meet the needs of our new younger students. We are painting, updating furniture, adding to our library collection, in the hopes of creating an inviting library for students of all ages at our school. We sold over $7000 at our recent Scholastic Book Fair and profited nearly $2000 that will go towards purchasing new books for our library.
Teachers are doing an excellent job of implementing our new math curriculum, ReadyMath. Our ReadyMath Coach observed teachers’ lessons and will be following up with feedback and implementation guidance. Teachers are liking the curriculum and are seeing a lot of growth in student discourse.
