WSD Athletics Board Report

October 13, 2014

Fall Sports

 

HS Football

  1. Varsity record (3-0 league, 5-0 overall)

       i.      Ranked #9 in most recent state poll.

  1. JV record (3-0 league, 5-0 overall).
  2. 56 athletes are participating

HS Volleyball

  1. Varsity record (5-1  league, 7-1 overall).

       i.      Currently in 2nd place in league.

       ii.      We finished 2nd in the Monarch Invite out of 16 teams.

  1. JV record (3-3 league, 3-5 overall).
  2. 25 athletes are participating.

HS Girls’ Soccer

  1. Varsity record (2-4 league, 5-4 overall)

       i.      Currently in 5th place in league.

  1. JV record (1-3 league, 2-3 overall)
  2. 27 athletes are participating.

HS Cross Country

  1. 31 athletes are participating – including 9 middle school athletes.

       i.      Varsity ran really well at the Seaside Challenge with the boys placing 2nd and Matt Young won his division and placed 4th overall.

       ii.      Our boys’ team won the Montesano Invitational with Matt Young winning the individual championship.  Freshman Natalie Biddix placed 9th to lead the girls to a 3rd place finish.

       iii.      We are hosting the district cross country championships  at Lewis River Golf on Nov. 1

HS Boys’ Golf

  1. Varsity record (7-0 league, 7-1 overall)

       i.      Currently in 2nd place in league.

  1. JV record (6-0 league, 7-1 overall)
  2. 12 athletes are participating

       i.      District tournament begins Monday, October 22.

MS Football

  1. 8th grade record 5-0
  2. 7th grade record 5-0
  3. Gold 0-3
  4. 61 athletes participating (Three teams: 8th, 7th  and “Gold”)

MS Volleyball

  1. 8th grade record 8-1
  2. 7th grade record 9-0
  3. C team record 6-3
  4. We are hosting the 8th grade championships on Saturday.
  5. 32 athletes participating (Three teams: 8th, 7th, and one blended)
