RE: Yale
As you are already aware enrollment at Yale Elementary posed some challenges in our 3-5 classroom. The challenge of teaching three grade levels was further complicated by having very large class size in our 3-5 classroom. To support effective teaching and learning we added Mrs. Wolden to our staff part-time this year. She is specifically teaching math and reading content to fourth and fifth grade students. This summer she and Mr. Niekamp worked closely to develop a seamless learning experience for the 4th and 5th students who learn from both teachers over the course of the day. Thus far the model is working very well.
