Michael Green reported that today was a non-student day. Teachers took this time to work on grades, finals and optional in-service training. Woodland Primary and Intermediate staff were diving into reading and math issues.   Michael will be at a close-out meeting for the Yale Gym project tomorrow. He gave an update of the new HS project. Nutter is working to address the GeoGrid issue that had been discovered. Michael will meet with the architect to correct the issue.  Skanska gave Michael a link to the site webcams and the Board was able to see the progress. Janice Watts asked about the site security. Michael said that Skanska is responsible for the site security until the project is complete.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

Board Member for Calendar Committee
Starting next school year, there will be a new requirement for students in grades 7-12 to have 1080 hours per year of teaching time. This may move graduation, which normally happens a week before other students get out of school. There are bills still pending in the legislature that may modify this.  The Board discussed how this would affect the school calendar.  Though Jeremy Stuart was not in attendance, Michael texted him and asked if he would like to be on the calendar committee. He said he would volunteer to represent the Board on that committee.

Board Member for TEAM HS Graduation
Tina Cayton volunteered to hand out diplomas at the TEAM HS graduation.

Board Member for Woodland HS Graduation
Janice Watts will continue the tradition of the Board President handing out diplomas at the WHS graduation.
