Monthly Update
January 2014
Monday morning professional development during the month of January focused on our Extension Block. Teachers spent two mornings analyzing student data in reading and math, identifying areas of the greatest student need, and making revisions to Extension Block classes where appropriate.
On January 27th WIS staff spent a full day in professional development. The morning session included staff familiarizing themselves and taking the practice Smarter Balanced assessments. The Smarter Balanced assessments will take the place of the MSP assessments next year. The afternoon was dedicated to activities related to the Common Core State Standards.
As we move into February planning and scheduling for spring MSP testing, student placement, and looking ahead to the 2014/2015 school year start to begin a priority.
