WORKSHOP

Michael introduced Chris, who led the Board through a presentation on the design of the new High School.  The Board interacted with the architecture team throughout the workshop.

Jim Bays stated that he did not feel the entry of the school or the commons area had enough of an identity statement.  He also expressed a desire to see more emphasis on the school colors in the design. Chris Lilley indicated that the design would allow elements of identity to be brought forth through student work and displays.

After a presentation on design, the Board discussed items that were listed as potential alternates.    Though the design team discussed the option of listing the theatre seating as an alternate, the Board asked that it be included in the base bid.

Currently the cost estimates for the building are about 2% under budget.

Acceptance of Design for the New Woodland High School

Jeremy Stuart moved to accept the design and direct the superintendent to proceed with the design of two alternates, the ground source heating system and the turf field.
