BOARD REPORTS

Student Representative Report
Tayler Summers reported that the Every 15 Minutes program ran last week. Tayler said it’s a good program, and students really need to learn about the dangers of drinking and driving. The Health Occupations Students of America club (HOSA) is going to nationals. They are fundraising by selling cookies. The Future Business Leaders of America group (FBLA) is going to the State competition. Last weekend choir won 3^rd place and the band won 2^nd place at the jazz festival in Pleasant Hill, OR.  The ASB will meet tomorrow. Tayler has signed up to be the Student Representative to the Board next year.

Other Reports
Bill Woodard asked about a strobe alarm that Bill Hanson had installed at WPS.  Michael said that strobe alarms give off different tones for people with hearing loss, and strobes for the deaf, so that they can be aware of the alarm.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Mr. Green said he had a meeting with the architect about the Yale stage today. They should be getting the final pricing for the insta-theatre product soon. He said that the Nutter Corporation entered the lowest bid for Phase 1 of the new high school project, which is for the ground stabilization and pre-loading. Phase 2 will include everything else and will go to bid in the fall.

There will be a special Board workshop on April 29^th to review and approve the final WHS design.

ACTION ITEMS

Award of Bid for Phase 1 of  WHS Project

Bill Woodard moved to accept the bid from Nutter Construction of Vancouver Washington, for Woodland High School Phase 1 – Site Prep, in the amount of $2,844,097.22, and authorize the Superintendent to enter into a contract on behalf of the Woodland School District with Nutter Construction for the construction of the project.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

President, Jim Bays, recessed the meeting into executive session at 6:19pm to discuss a personnel matter and Superintendent evaluation, both as allowed under 42.30.110(1)(g), with no action to be taken upon return.

President, Jim Bays reconvened the meeting into regular session at 7:15pm.

ADJOURNMENT
