The following are the items we have been working on at Woodland Middle School:
We’re Back
Beginning February 23rd, we are excited to welcome students back into the building for live in-person instruction. We will initially be returning with a “Hybrid model” of live classes, which means that students will attend school remotely on Mondays and live on Tuesday through Friday with an A/B schedule.
○ All students will attend their classes remotely online on Mondays.
○ Students with the last names A-L will attend school on campus on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
○ Students with the last names M-Z will attend school on campus on Thursdays and Fridays.
High School Virtual Visits
Our 8th graders will be visiting the high school virtually on March 1st. This will be a great opportunity to meet remotely with high school counselors and tour the elective programs. Eighth-grade students will receive Google invitations from the high school for this virtual visit, which will replace their regular remote classes that morning.
Academic and Attendance Awards
We are happy to announce the following second-quarter academic awards. This is awesome news considering all of the changes and difficulties of remote learning. We are proud of our students’ efforts. We plan on distributing certificates via homeroom classes when students return since we can’t host assemblies yet.
Athletics
Middle School athletic practices have begun, and we hope they will start competing next week. Here are the numbers for WMS fall sports:
