The following are the key happenings at Woodland Middle School:
WMS IS A STATE RECOGNIZED SCHOOL
We are excited to announce that Woodland Middle school is one of 34 middle schools in the state to be identified as a state recognized school. Our school was recently honored for closing the achievement gap and demonstrating improvement among student groups identified for support. We traveled to Olympia on June 6th to receive this award on behalf of the WMS staff.
PTSA
We want to say thanks to the PTSA for their financial support of our programs this year. In addition to funding field trips, teacher purchases, and school supplies, they have recently provided $2000 to purchase used instruments for our band program. This helps us provide options for students that may otherwise not be able to afford renting an instrument. We appreciate the kindness of the families that made donations during our walk-a-thon this year to support our many programs.
