Re: June Review

Here is an overview of the key activities we worked on in relation to teaching and learning this month.

Monday’s: We used one of our Monday’s for Professional Learning Teams work and the others for department collaboration time.  All went well and again, we are so grateful for this time to work together.

Other information: Graduation went well and we had our debrief meeting last week.  We are going to make one “big” change for next year. We are going to use a digital version of “Pomp and Circumstance”, instead of using our band.  Lots of reasons for this change, but the biggest is that it would allow for up to 100 more tickets to distribute at graduation (if inside).  We did have a tough week after graduation because of a parent complaining online about their son having their feelings hurt because they were told they could not wear their Navy stoles. However, the controversy has mostly settled and we are moving on. The senior MVP breakfast, graduates parade, Baccalaureate, and the rest of the last week for seniors occurred without incident and we received quite a bit of positive feedback. Thanks to our entire team who helped to make this a reality. The end of school went very smoothly and we love the “academic” feel of the school the last few days.  This is because of the finals schedule and expectation of staff and students to stay engaged in learning as long as possible.
