Approval of KWRL Wage Agreement for 17-18 and 18-19

As the board of record for the KWRL Transportation Cooperative the Woodland Public School Board of Directors is responsible for approval of collective bargaining agreements with the SEIU-KWRL union.

The current four-year agreement with KWRL had language that allowed for a reopener for wages for the final two years of the agreement.

The Coop maintained the consistent standard of striving to provide competitive pay and benefits based on the regional market.   The wages that have been tentatively agreed to were negotiated based on a regional salary survey (Clark and Cowlitz County School Districts) and are slightly above the mid-point for those school districts.

The agreement provides 2017-2018 increases to drivers of 5.5% for drive time, standby and meeting time of 23%, and mechanics of 9.5%.   Increases in 2018-2019 will be based on a market study of the same regional school districts.

This Tentative agreement has been ratified by the KWRL SEIU Union with a 94% Yes vote.  The KWRL Superintendents are unanimous in recommending approval to the school board.

Administrative Recommendation /MOTION/ "I move we approve the tentative agreement with KWRL SEIU as proposed"
