SBA Testing
Third and fourth-grade students have been hard at work participating in the Smarter-Balanced Assessment. Teachers and students have worked hard to prepare.
New Hires
Woodland Intermediate School is in full swing preparing for the coming school year. Incoming principal Denise Pearl has made several visits to Woodland Intermediate to lead the selection of new staff. We are expanding our third-grade staff by two teachers and have had several other transitions, resulting in several new teachers joining Woodland Intermediate School for 2018-2019. We have been very pleased with the pool of candidates and have hired some excellent teachers.
Changes to Supports and Schedules
The building leadership has worked hard this spring to revamp the schedule for the coming year. The biggest outcome of the change to the schedule is the doubling of opportunities for learners to receive additional supports through LAP (in our Boost Program) and ELL. In addition, more time has been provided for core instructional time through the development of continuous learning blocks of time. We are hopeful that this increased opportunity for instructional time will lead to better outcomes for students.
