RE: Yale Report

Yale students have had two wonderful field trips in the past month with the generous support of the school's parent-teacher association.

The first was to the Lelooska Museum where students learned about Native American culture from the region around the school. The students observed the many artifacts that are housed in the museum and were especially entertained by the masks and storytelling.

We also had the opportunity to enjoy A Year with Frog and Toad, a musical put on by the Oregon Children's Theater and a tour of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library. The librarians read books and led activities with our students. They gave information about the many resources the library provides and taught us proper library etiquette. The students were particularly enthralled by the automatic book sorter, affectionately monikered "Fred," which runs books along conveyor belts to separate books for easier shelving. Both field trips provided students an opportunity to learn about activities and resources in their local region and beyond. We truly appreciate the support from our PTA that made these and other events possible for our students.
