CALL TO ORDER

President Janice Watts called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION

President Watts thanked Jamie Gonzales for her year of services as the school board student representative. Jamie was presented with a certificate, her name plate and a thank you card. Her name will also be added to the student representative plaque that hangs in the Woodland High School office.

WORKSHOP

This month’s workshop was an in depth review of key performance measures.

The workshop started with Superintendent Green explaining the process and jigsaw protocol for the meeting. He provided a PowerPoint presentation with all the School Perception results from the staff, student, and parent surveys.

The school board members and administration team broke down into three smaller groups to explore these key performances measures. Group one lead by John Shoup, Ingrid Colvard, and Stacy Brown focused on graduation rates and 9^th grade course failure. Group two lead by Deb Kernen, Dan Uhlenkott, and Jake Hall centered on school attendance & absenteeism and Kindergarten preparedness. The last group focused on proficiency on standard measures and student growth on standard measures and it was led by Michael Green and Asha Riley. The main goal of these groups was to understand “tableau” navigation and what the data means, to explore what the data is and how each people view it and then a group discussion to see what surprised them and what questions arose.

The workshop then merged back into a large group where all the information from the smaller groups were shared and discussed.
