School Field Trip: The Yale Valley Fort Vancouver Regional Library generously sent our students on a full day all-expense paid field trip. First our students attended a guided tour of Fort Vancouver. There students learned about the Fur Trade and how pioneers in our state survived at the Fort. Then the students were bussed to the FVRLs NEW facility where they learned how books are sorted and returned, where to find each type of book they would like to read, and had time to explore the children's reading floor. To wrap up the day each child was able to check out a book to read on the way home.
School Handbook: Recently the Yale staff and I have been working on writing a student/parent handbook. We are putting the final touches on it and plan to publish it to families in January. This resource will also be posted to the Yale website for families to access.
Christmas Play: The students have been working hard on preparing for their upcoming Christmas play. We are grateful to the Huffman's for all the planning and hard work they put into this production. If you wish to attend, the play will be held in the Yale school at 6:30pm on December 20th 2011.
