Last month our teachers attended the annual Washington Alternative Education Association conference. As both of our K-8 teachers are new to many of the laws regarding alternative schools, they found the information at the conference very helpful. To ensure we are in compliance with these laws, we invited the president of the association to come to a mock audit of our program. We feel fairly confident our processes and documentation are compliant, however, there is always room for refinement. We expect we will make some adjustments to student learning plan templates and our procedures to ensure we are doing things correctly.
