Re: TEAM Board Report
1) School Improvement Plan
One of TEAM’s school improvement goals is as follows:
TEAM High School will reduce the number of students with no contact (non engagement) during any given week by 10%. This goal will be based on a baseline rate obtained from Spring 2023 and will be accomplished by Spring 2024.
Part of ALE requires that TEAM HS establish two way communication with every student at least once per week, even if that student does not meet our requirement for in person attendance. That contact is managed through a Google form in which students record their current progress and whatever questions they may have. This allows for TEAM staff to follow up with students more efficiently. This year, we created an accountability point using technology which requires students to complete that check in each Monday before they are able to proceed with their online work. As a result, our rate of recorded student engagement has been hovering between 90% and 100% for the past several months. Goal met.
2) Recognition
Last month, TEAM staff (me included) spent three days at the annual ALE conference. One of the goals was to get to know each other better because many of us are new or new-ish to TEAM. During that time, I heard more stories about the lengths that TEAM staff will go to in order to serve our students. As one example, some years ago, one TEAM staff member sold their old car (for zero dollars) to a TEAM student who needed it. That uncommon compassion is what TEAM runs on.
3) Upcoming Events
Spring sports have begun. Many TEAM students participate in sports at WHS and would welcome all to come out and support our Beaver teams.
