RE: North Fork Elementary Board Report

• We held our PTSA Walkathon on October 11th. We had 18 parent volunteers to help make the day go smoothly. Our donations that have come in so far exceed $8000. These funds will go directly to teacher grants for grade-level projects.
• October is National Anti-Bullying Month. Mr. Kulu, our counselor has been going to each classroom and teaching a lesson on bullying and how to prevent it. 
• Our monthly Purposeful People trait for the month of October is Responsibility. Our Leadership teacher, Mrs. Carmen has been teaching lessons on being responsible in all areas of our lives. This week 4th-grade students worked on being responsible with their materials and supplies, as well as at home with their personal items, and talked about the consequences of not being organized.  Students are going to rate themselves as they go throughout the week.  
• We have improved our dismissal and pick-up procedures to ensure the safety of our students. We are two weeks in with our new system and many parents have thanked us for the measures we have put in place. It is always a work in progress and we are eager to hear if the Safety Consultant has any new ideas to implement.
