As with my last report, meeting with employees for exemption requests to the Governor’s mandate took up quite a bit of my time. I met with all the people who requested an exemption individually and completed the process before the deadline. I will continue to work through the mandate requirements as we continue to hire and answer questions concerning the requirements.

Contact tracing during the school day and evenings continues as an important part of our process in communicating with staff and students who may have been exposed. This week the staff who requested an exemption began testing, and those are tracked too.

I completed two reports this month. The EEOC report is a required report that is done annually. The district’s workforce demographic data is submitted by race/ethnicity, sex, and employee type.  I also completed the required Reporting Required Vaccination and Status report required by OSPI and submitted the data.

I attended a Law Conference this last week that gave timely information concerning the mandate but also allowed me to connect with other districts and compare processes. I attended classes on bargaining, staff and student free speech, and the vaccine mandate as well keynote speeches that addressed current legal cases and issues related to equity. Chris Reykdal spoke to the group about the mandate and his hopes for the students as we move forward.
