School Board Policy 1400 defines when regular board meetings are scheduled. Oftentimes the board will modify the meeting schedule in July because the business load is lighter, and many are vacationing during this month.
Much of the work of the board in the summer months is dealing with establish the budget for the coming school year. The identified topics for the workshops are:
June 23 — Regular Meeting Workshop Topic: "School Finance and Budgeting 101"
August 11 — Regular Meeting Workshop Topic: "2021-2022 Fiscal Year Budget Review"
August 25 — Regular Meeting: "Budget Hearing" and "Budget Adoption"
At this point in time, there are no special topics identified for the July board meetings.
OPTION 1) Retain the regular board meeting schedule
July 14 Regular Meeting
July 28 Regular Meeting
OPTION 2) Retain the regular board meeting schedule but have one or both of the meetings "Consent Agenda Only"
OPTION 3) Retain only the regular July 14 meeting and pre-approve end-of-month payables
OPTION 4) Cancel regular meetings and schedule a single mid-month meeting on July 21 and pre-approve end-of-month payables
