RE: Tech Dept. Executive Summary

Well, the dust has now settled properly for our department! The guys continued to work hard through September mopping up various requests and todos, and by the end of September we were caught up again and able to handle things promptly as they came in. We’ve since had time to tidy up a bit (our office and storage area always get somewhat disorganized after the frantic summer and back-to-school period), and we can now turn our attention to some of our on-going projects.

Our annual Digital Citizenship Week takes place Oct 14th-18th in all our schools. We have a fair amount of time with the students working on tech skills in the elementary grades and digital citizenship/online safety is covered there, but as the students get older their tech teaching starts to depend on what classes they are having. So to make sure all students are regularly being reminded of the importance of staying safe online, preserving their privacy, and respecting others, we hold our now annual week. Candice Lindsay and Shae Lindsay provide age appropriate materials to homeroom teachers to support activities and conversations around these topics.
