WORKSHOP

Facilities and Safety Director, Scott Landrigan, gave a detailed and informational PowerPoint presentation on school facilities and safety planning. He started with an overview of safety and security. Scott recently reviewed and updated Policy 3432 Emergencies which the school board approved at the last board meeting. He explained the District-Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and School-Level Plans (ERP’s). Safety improvements have been made over the last year including security camera installation that links to Woodland Police Department, key card access system and rekeying schools, fencing improvements and lockdown buttons in front offices. The rekeying is still in the works with many more improvements to be made in the near future.

Next, Scott covered the facilities planning for all five (5) schools. He provided some historical history, school statistics, roofing plans, blacktop plans, utility overview, HVAC overview, structural and interior finishes, plumbing plans, and portable building plans for each school. He then provided a ten (10) year cost summary by school for each of the above categories. It was very clear from Scott’s information that Woodland Primary School and Woodland Middle School have the highest needs right now.

ADJOURNMENT
