CALL TO ORDER
President Janice Watts called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
CITIZENS REQUESTS TO ADDRESS THE BOARD ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Laura Perry invited the school board members to the Future Chef Competition on March 27th at Woodland High School and the Fine Dining Event on April 26th at Woodland Intermediate School.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Director Beuscher moved to approve the minutes from February 26, 2018, and March 12, 2018.

REPORTS TO THE BOARD
Student Representative Report
Hannah Landrigan reported that sports are going well. The Floriculture Team took 1st place at the state competition. She asked the school board about the schedule during finals week and revisiting the open campus topic. President Watts directed Hannah to speak to Principal, John Shoup, about these topics first.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Washington School Improvement Framework
Assistant Superintendent, Asha Riley, presented a PowerPoint presentation to the school board on the overview of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and Washington State Improvement Framework and the effects it would have at Woodland Public Schools and how each of our schools were measured.
First Reading of Policy Revisions for 2104, 2108, 3232, 3244, 4130, 5050 & 6535
With no objections, these policies will be presented for second reading and approval at the next month’s board meeting.
Board Self-Assessment Survey
Over the last couple of weeks, the directors participated in the WSSDA School Board Self-Assessment survey. The results were provided for them to review and discuss. The directors agreed that having more time to review the result could lead to a more informed conversation and it was decided to bring this discussion item back to the April 23rd board meeting.
