Here is an overview of the key activities we worked on in relation to teaching and learning this month.
Staff development: Our staff, including several of our instructional aides, met on Monday, August 29th for an entire day. We spent time on three key activities: Our school district vision statement, the state of our advisory program and our collaboration time. It was a wonderful day with some great insights and data points. We will continue this work, including a real dive into student data during our time together on October 10th and 11th. We also worked together on Tuesday, August 30th. This was our nuts and bolts meeting and training by our district nurse Chantel Miller. It was a good day in preparation for the first day of school.
Other information: Our opening day went quite smoothly. We opened with an assembly and introduced our five foreign exchange students, had performances by our dance team and cheerleaders and also met our new staff. The assembly was followed by a normal bell schedule. School pictures were taken on Friday, September 2nd. It was a very good start to the school year and being in our second year of the new building really helped too.
