Re: September Review
Here is an overview of the key activities we worked on in relation to teaching and learning this month.
Monday's: We used the three Monday's in September for staff to refocus their energies in group norms and power standards and to meet with the rest of the district staff for a presentation by Michael. The other Monday was used to work through our Navigation 101 planning for the month. The focus of our collaboration time is to make sure we can clearly identify and properly assess the key learning standards in everyone of our classes and this was all developed in collaboration with teachers who are teaching similar classes.
Other information: Our class sizes look good and our master schedule appears to be working quite well. As we have come to expect, it has been a very smooth re-opening to the school year. Parents and students are enjoying the new Skyward system as it is very robust with many ways to gather good information about a student's progress. The other big news from this month is that we have confirmed our "Challenge Day" date for this year. We encourage you and any board members wishing to participate to let me know of your interest to again participate in this wonderful and powerful activity. The date this year will be Election day, November 6, 2012!
