WALA Workshop
Last week WALA (Washington Association for Learning Alternatives) conducted a workshop outlining the latest changes and procedures for alternative schools. Jillian, Mary, Sarah and myself attended and found it to be very beneficial. We will use this information to make changes in our program.
Audit
The week of November 28 – December 2 is when an auditor will be on site to examine our records. This is always stressful but we feel we are prepared, but we never can be 100% certain. It is like playing for the state championship, preparing months in advance but always having some doubt about the outcome.
State Testing
On November 1 & 2, our students took the English Language Arts State Exam. On November 15 & 16, our students will take the Smarter Balanced Math State Exam. Students are required to pass both of these exams in order to be eligible to graduate.
Enrollment
Our enrollment for November is 78 students. Adding in the Lewis River Academy High School students brings us up to the average enrollment that we typically see for this time of year.
