Woodland Primary School Report

Focus on Learning

Kindergarten registration opened on April 11. As of this reporting, there are 104 students registered. The Kindergarten Fair was a successful event. Parents were greeted by the administrators and given the opportunity to hear about Woodland Primary expectations for successful student learning as well as the soft start for K students next school year. Students were screened for early literacy, numeracy, oral language, and social skills. Parents were interviewed about the health and social/emotional needs of their young students.

We have hit a bump with the implementation of the vaccination clinic. County Cowlitz requires that the school district obtains written orders from a qualified medical practitioner in order to allow the school district to administer vaccines. We were working with the Family Health Clinic to this end but were recently informed that they were unwilling to provide those orders. Channtel Miller, District Nurse, and Emily Alderman are continuing to research options.
