Spring Sports

1.       Spring Post Season



a.        Track and Field State Results

           i.      Charity Arn - 2nd High Jump - 5'3"

           ii.      Chase VanCleef - 3rd Shot Put - 50'11.75"

           iii.      Kelly Nigro - 5th 300 Hurdles - 45.92

           iv.      Brianne Koering - 8th Discus - 110'2"

           v.      William Davis -  10th Pole Vault - 12'6"

b.      Golf State Results

            i.      Nicole Sallee - 13th

            ii.      Trey Udy - 25th

c.       Fastpitch District Playoffs

           i.      Great comeback fell just short in winner to state/loser out game. Season ended with a record of 20-3 and a league championship.

2.       Summer Programs

a.        Youth Camps put on by our programs:           

           i.      June 20-22 Volleyball (grades 4-8)

           ii.      July 12-15 Boys' Basketball (grades 1-9)

          iii.      July 19-22 Girls' Basketball (grades 3-8)

          iv.      July 18-20 Football (grades 7-12)

           v.      July 28-30 Football (grades 2-6)

b.       High School athletes are participating in the following summer programs:

           i.      Cross Country, Girls' Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Wrestling, Girls' Basketball, Boys' Basketball, Baseball

3.       Currently...

a.        WIAA program survey completed for ms and hs.

b.       Student Participation Survey administered grades 8-11. Results to be analyzed.

c.        Facility use research results analyzed.

           i.      Comparison of area schools - suggestions for revision coming soon.

d.       Restructuring of athletic passes (season/annual - individual and family to be offered)

           i.      Comparison of area schools - revisions to be completed by fall.

e.       Fall/Winter schedules near completion

f.         Head coach end of year meeting (June 15) - main topics...

           i.      Address both positives and areas for growth from this year.

           ii.      Handbook revisions outlined - questions/concerns addressed.

           iii.      Problem solve ways to improve connection with student body, alumni, community and businesses with our athletic program.

           iv.      Problem solve ways to increase turnout numbers, school morale and the overall success of our athletic program.

            v.      Classification discussion.

           vi.      Program consistency (team selection/cuts, expectations, discipline, mission, etc.)

g.        W Club (Letter Winner's Club) paperwork submitted - club to begin this fall.

h.       Conducting Spring Head Coaches individual post season meetings.

4.       AD Summer Projects

a.        Fence Repair/mole control.

b.       JV Girls dugouts framed - complete siding.

c.        Create more ways for the community, family and alumni abroad to stay connected with our athletic program through outlets such as ihigh.com, facebook, twitter and our existing website.

d.       Continue working on WHS Sports Archive.

e.       Create Alumni database.

f.         Update stadium sound system.

g.        Update record boards in gymnasium.

h.       Middle School Gym repairs (wall pads)/update (mural/wall signs).

i.         Create captain training curriculum.

j.         Create W Club outline.
