The following are the items we have been working on at Woodland Middle School:

High School Visits

High school counselors are coming here on February 25th to discuss graduation requirements, elective options, give a virtual presentation from elective teachers, and answer any questions our students may have. We are doing this in our 8^th grade science classes and students will forecast the following week.

Academic and Attendance Awards

We are happy to announce the following second-quarter academic awards.  We will be distributing certificates via homeroom classes.  We are so proud of these students and their achievements during this difficult time.

• 145 Academic Achievement Honor Roll Awards (3.0 to 3.49 GPA)
  • 5^th grade-34 students
  • 6^th grade-40 students
  • 7^th grade-36 students
  • 8^th grade-35 students
• 308 Principal’s Honor Roll Awards (3.5 to 4.0 GPA)
  • 5^th grade-69 students
  • 6^th grade-68 students
  • 7^th grade-84 students
  • 8^th grade-87 students

Athletics

• Our middle school dance team took first place in the hip-hop division at the February 5^th competition in Vancouver.
• Middle School boys’ basketball wraps up this week and we were excited to have 4 teams compete due to the large turnout of players.
• It is hard to believe that we are quickly approaching track season and we will begin our recruiting soon.
