The following are the key happenings at Woodland Middle School:
VIRTUAL TALENT SHOW
Since we can’t host our normal talent show this year, we are doing it virtually. Jeff Flanagan, our leadership teacher is inviting students to submit brief videos displaying their talents. He will compile these videos into an end-of-year virtual talent display for teachers to show in their homeroom classes during the last week of school.
VIRTUAL PRINCIPAL AWARDS
We will be inviting a small group of parents to our commons for a surprise recognition of this year’s Principal Award winners. Normally, we recognize these students in an all-school assembly. This year students will be announced virtually and then report to the commons. Only 2-3 students are selected at each grade level so it is quite an honor.
ACADIENCE ASSESSMENTS
We have recently completed most of our Acadience one-on-one assessments. These results will help us place students in our reading interventions for the 21-22 school year.
SUMMER SCHOOL UPDATE
YEARBOOKS
We will be providing a free yearbook to all students in June rather than charging the normal fees.
SPORTS
We are wrapping up our knowledge bowl, track, and wrestling season next week.
