ELL/State Transitional Bilingual Intervention Program and Translation Services

• WHS: The high school is gearing up our four senior ELL students to graduate! They have all completed their requirements: resumes, obtaining letters of recommendations, presentations, passing all their classes, and having all their credits. We are so proud of their accomplishments!

• WHS: In the ELL classroom, students have just completed a presentation about language immersion schools from all around the world. This gave them a wonderful opportunity to showcase their backgrounds and/or explore new places. We traveled all over from Angeles City, Philippines, to Siguatepeque, Honduras. Our next assignment is to write a memoir about a time they visited a place.

• WMS: In our current learning model, the WMS ELL department uses time on Mondays to monitor student progress and grades and works with students via small groups or Google Meets. Our ELL teacher is currently in the planning phases of WMS ELL Summer School 2021 and Trojan Homework Club 2021-22, which are programs that will provide additional support for our ELL students. 

• Elementary: We have completed all summative ELPA21 assessments for our elementary students! We are proud of the growth that our students have made throughout this challenging year and are excited to see the results that will be released in August. We are currently starting training for staff for the WIDA assessment that will replace the ELPA21 for the 2021-2022 school year so that we can be ready to support students in the fall!
