• 2020-2021 School Year:

• It's hard to believe the 2020-2021 school year is coming to an end. Some of the upcoming additions/changes for the 2021-2022 school year are…

1. Intervention for ALL students: (Spanish and English)
2. Common planning periods: All grades K-4
3. Daily Adaptive Specialist Classes: (PE, Library, Leadership, Music) for our intensive special education students
4. K-4 Leadership class: (Replacing Art due to Madison Frasier's resignation)
5. Daily Small Group Instruction Time: All grades K-4

• 2020-2021 Summative Academic Growth:

• One of the K-4 progress monitoring tools that we utilize at WPS is an assessment called Acadience. Columbia gave Acadience to our K-4 students three times during the 2020-2021 school year. We gave the assessment in the Fall, Winter and Spring. We as a school still have work to do, but academically, as a school, we are headed in the right direction.

Kindergarten:

Fall: 53% Intensive;   Spring: 36% Intensive

First Grade:

Fall: 81% Intensive;   Spring: 70% Intensive

Second Grade:

Fall: 40% Intensive;   Spring: 46% Intensive

Third Grade:

Fall: 55% Intensive;   Spring: 51% Intensive

Fourth Grade:

Fall: 56% Intensive;   Spring: 55% Intensive

• End-of-the-Year Dates/Activities:

• Incoming Kindergarten "Open House": June 3, 2021
• Field Day: June 11, 2021
• Kindergarten Celebration: June 14, 2021
• Lorie Vogel's Retirement Party: June 15, 2021
