Woodland Middle School

Winter 1 Sports  

Girls’ Basketball

  1. 8th record (1-6)
  2. 7th record (6-1)
    1. They’re excited to take on Ridgefield this week and hopefully avenge their only loss. Their execution and transition skills continue to improve!
  3. Blended (Yellow) (1-1-3)
    1. Games have been tough so far but the team continues to work hard and improve.
  4. Blended (Green) (2-6)
    1. Our green blended team is playing a 7th grade schedule – so really tough competition. This team continues to grow.
  5. Blended (White) (0-6)
    1. The majority of this team is in the ELL program. Playing basketball has helped all of our girls to feel included and like they belong to something special.
  6. A special thanks to 15+ WMS teachers who donated money to help pay for basketball shooter shirts. All of the girls in the program were able to receive one – no one went without!

Wrestling

  1. Last weekend the Woodland Middle School wrestling team placed third in the district tournament. Woodland had several individual district champions including, Merek Rickard, Keaten Stansberry, Sam Purcell, and Jeffrey Chilson. Several first-year wrestlers also competed at a high level in the tournament and did awesomely!

Dance

  1. Their first contest was last weekend at Highland, and they scored high enough to hit the state qualifying marks in two categories: Hip Hop and Pom.

Cheer

  1. First competition is Dec. 21st at Woodinville HS.

Boys’ Basketball

  1. Varsity record – 0-0 league, 0-2 overall
  2. They will be attending a holiday tournament in Kittitas, WA on December 27-28.
  3. JV record – 0-0 league, 1-1 overall
  4. C record – 0-0 league, 1-0 overall

Girls’ Basketball

  1. Varsity record – 0-0 league, 2-0 overall
    1. They will be attending a holiday tournament in Kittitas, WA on December 27-28.
  2. JV record – 0-0 league, 1-1 overall

Wrestling

  1. Our team had a good showing in Aberdeen to start the season off. Josiah and Judeah Sanders both placed first to lead our squad.
