Our CTE Alice programming class is working hard to learning how to manipulate characters to act out scenes. They are working toward producing a short animation based on an Aesop’s fable of their choosing. They will be working together as a team to storyboard, cast and produce the animation.

The HOSA club is running all of the concession stands for boys and girls basketball to raise money to go to state competitions in Spokane in March.
AP Bio students are starting Human Genetics and making pedigrees of their families and diseases.
Culinary arts students, along with SkillsUSA students, did a great job of hosting Empty Bowls on Dec. 6th. The proceeds go to the Woodland Action Center.
Just prior to Thanksgiving, SkillsUSA put on a food drive with awards being given to the top 4th period class and Beaver Points going to each class. They collected a record breaking 2,220 items for the food bank.
On November 13th, State Farms Insurance Agents hosted an informative customer service training open to all students, it was primarily attended by SkillsUSA students
The automotive students have been building engine's and fixing staff vehicles.
Metal's students have been 3d modeling and designing their own projects and practicing different welds on various positions.
Marketing and FBLA students have been working hard on Custom Apparel orders. So far, they have created apparel for Jazz Choir, Robotics Team, WHS Cheer, and Knowledge Bowl. They are currently working on WMS Girls Basketball shirts, WHS Athletics shirts, and a few other orders that have come in. They are also working on small orders that can be placed through the student store. Many staff and students at the high school really like one of our new apparel designs for this school year.
Career Choices and FBLA attended a field trip to the Portland Expo Center on Friday, December 6th. Students toured the facility, learning about its time as a livestock auction facility, then becoming a Portland Assembly Center during World War II where many Japanese-Americans stayed before being transported to internment camps, they learned about its time during the Vanport flood, and how they became a successful exposition center today. Students were able to hear from many of the employees at the facility from sales managers, event managers, operations director, and the director of the entire facility. At the end, students were able to enjoy the Christmas Bazaar that was currently being held at the Expo Center during our time there.
Publications students were able to conference call with a Walsworth artist and design this year's yearbook cover. We connected with her through a special link that allowed us to project what she was doing on the white board. Students worked with her real time and gave her input as we watched her put together our cover. Finalizations need to be made, but Pub students are very excited about what they have come up with.
