1.        HS Football

a.        Varsity record (0-0 league, 1-0 overall)

            i.      Beat Kalama 48-33 for season opener.

b.        JV record (0-0 league, 1-0 overall).

            i.      Beat Kalama 42-0 for season opener.

c.        Freshman record (0-0 league, 0-0 overall)

            i.      First game is Sept. 15 @ Battle Ground.

d.        59 athletes are participating.

2.        HS Volleyball

a.        Varsity record (0-0 league, 0-1 overall).

           i.      Lost to Kelso 2-3 after winning first two games for season opener

b.        JV record (0-0 league, 1-0 overall).

           i.      Beat Kelso 2-1 for season opener.

c.        25 athletes are participating.

3.        HS Girls' Soccer

a.        Varsity record (0-0 league, 1-0 overall)

          i.      Beat Rainier, OR 4-0 for season opener.

b.        JV record (0-0 league, 1-0 overall)

          i.      Beat Kalama 1-0 for season opener.

c.        29 athletes are participating.

4.        HS Cross Country

a.        First meet of season is the Friday, Sept. 9 at Hudson's Bay

b.        Hosting the "Bruce Flanagan Invitational" on Sept. 17 at the Holland America Bulb Farm.

c.        24 athletes are participating.

5.        HS Boys' Golf

a.        Varsity record (0-0 league, 1-1 overall)

          i.      First league meet is Sept. 15 @ Hockinson.

b.        JV record (0-0 league, 0-2 overall)

6.        MS Football

a.        First game is Sept. 8 vs. La Center

          i.      50 athletes participating (Two teams: 8th, 7th)

7.        MS Volleyball

a.        First game is Sept. 8 vs. View Ridge

           i.      40 athletes participating (Four teams: 8th, 7th, and two blended)

8.        Completed

a.        HS Sports can now be followed on Facebook and Twitter.

b.        HS Captain training on August 31 - met with all HS fall sport captains.

           i.      The role of a captain and how to support the entire athletic program were two of the main topics.

c.        Met with Chamber to share what is new with WHS athletics and discuss ways we can help each other.

          i.      Adopt an athlete and community service were two of the main topics.

d.        Facility Upgrades

          i.      Sound systems at Stadium, WMS and WHS gyms all repaired or upgraded.

          ii.      Stadium scoreboard reconditioned.
