In 2009 WSSDA adopted the Washington School Board Standards, Benchmarks for Success and Indicators: a Framework for effective governance.
The standards identify the elements of good governance and effective board leadership as drawn from best practices and current research. They provide a shared understanding of what constitutes good governance. They also validate and affirm the importance of the school board’s role in ensuring student success.
The entire board responded to a questionnaire over the last few weeks and has received, from WSSDA, the results of that survey.
The board will have the opportunity to review and discuss the results of the survey and establish improvement goals moving forward.
