Re:       Woodland High School Report

Here is an overview of the key activities we worked on in relation to teaching and learning this month and a bit of a preview for May.

Monday’s: We only had three Monday’s in April for staff development time.  We used two of those Monday’s to help staff finalize their work with the new teacher evaluation program (TPEP).  Dan and I have been have very productive meetings with our staff and we believe we have had a productive full school implementation, partly as a result of using some of our Monday staff development time this year. The other Monday was used for staff collaboration and to review health care plans.

Other information: You may have noticed that we had a significant award earned by Ms. Katie Klaus.  Her story regarding the James Madison Fellowship award was picked up by the Columbian and The Daily News.  Also, our FBLA and SKILLS USA students did marvelous at the state competition.  Mrs. Rose Ruff and Mrs. Miller do great jobs as their advisors.

May/early June Preview: Be sure to mark your calendar for the Annual Plant Sale (May 6th and 7th), HOSA is sponsoring a blood drive on May 4th,  Hot Chili Cool Jazz is June 3rd, State testing for sophomores is May 18th and 19th and the school play “Three Fairy Godmothers” is May 12th - 14th.
