Collaborating with the Sheriff Department to Build a Safe School Environment:
Recently Sheriff Mark Nelson called to see if there was a way they could better support our rural school community. To ensure students feel safe in their school environment Mr. Nelson offered to increase their presence at our school. While we don't feel unsafe at Yale we welcomed their partnership. Since that time the deputies have begun to stop in and visit the kids during recess and lunch time. Their visits have been positively received by the kids who look forward to seeing the deputies on a weekly basis. We are fortunate to have to have their support and our kids do feel safer knowing the deputies that serve and protect their community.
