Assessment Update:
We are carefully preparing for Smarter Balanced Assessments this spring. As we prepare each school, they are running practice tests and developing plans to ensure all students have a smooth testing experience. These tests will all be delivered in an online setting. To help families and students prepare for this experience, we will soon be publishing and sending out the attached information.
K-5 English Language Arts Materials:
As we've dug deeper into the Common Core standards for English Language Arts, we have determined it would be wise to look at resources available that more strongly align with these standards. A team of teachers will be meeting to discuss the standards and evaluate resources throughout this spring.
February 13th Professional Learning Opportunity:
Staff participated in a professional development learning opportunity, to more deeply understand how setting and monitoring student growth goals can improve student achievement. Dr. Ted Feller, an expert on assessment for learning, presented to staff and connected this strategy to their implementation of standards in their classroom practice.
