Monthly Update
February, 2015
CAST (Collaborative Action Support Team) was held February 18th-21st. This is our third year of CAST at WIS. This is proving to be an extremely beneficial activity. These meetings allow all staff working with each student an opportunity to discuss academic/social progress, review intervention programs the student may be participating in or need, and revise services as appropriate.
Seven WIS staff members attended PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports) training in Eugene, Oregon March 4-6. The training focused on positive interventions, programs, and strategies designed to help students be successful both academically and socially. Staff who attended the training will be facilitating training for staff who were not in attendance.
Reconfiguration continues to be a primary focus area. Many meetings and significant time have been dedicated to developing schedules, identify staffing needs, and figure out logistical issues.
