RE Lewis River Academy Monthly Update

Looking Ahead: As we anxiously await the results of our multi-district application we are also beginning to get requests for fall enrollment. In anticipation of increased enrollment I am projecting we will need a second space to accommodate our program. We’ll keep you posted as the count rises.

Activities: This month our students participated in a virtual field trip to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. The focus of the learning was Decoding History, a method of deducing historical record by analyzing primary source documents and artifacts.

We also had a great turn out to our Valentine Party in which nearly all our K-5 and some 6-8 students attended!  It’s always nice to see the community of home-study children and parents together.

Celebrating Students:  I’d like to highlight a few students for some significant achievements they’ve made.  Our first Running Start student Natasha Hambrook has earned a place on the Clark College honor role with a 4.0 grade point average. Travis Bishop and Karl Tipton have both made huge progress in their writing and are both now using the writing process to complete writing full essays! We also received a nice letter from Cameron Peterson who wanted to tell our teachers how grateful he was to be able to travel while maintaining academic support and progress.
