RE: Athletics Report

Woodland Middle School

Middle school sports are now playing games. The season ends March 18th for all except for football which ends March 25th.

  • We were able to get games for all teams.
  • Coaches, players, and parents have done a great job of following covid guidelines.
  • The experience has been positive for everyone – our kids were so excited to play games – even if with masks.

Track will start sometime after spring break. Basketball and Wrestling are still TBD.

Woodland High School

Season 1 is about to head into the post-season. There will be no state competitions this year, but we will have culminating events in volleyball, soccer, golf, and cross country at the district level.

  • Cross Country districts will be on March 18th at Hudson’s Bay.
  • Golf districts will be on March 17th and 18th at Mint Valley.
  • Volleyball will start with a league tournament, with our top two teams crossing over to play the top two teams from EVCO to determine a district champion. This begins March 16th and ends March 20th.
  • Soccer will start a league tournament, with our top two teams crossing over to play the top two teams from EVCO to determine a district champion. This begins March 13th and ends March 20th.
  • Football will not have a playoff. With only one game allowed per week, our condensed season does not allow for it.

Other

  • Season 2 sports are projected to start on March 22nd. These will be our traditional spring sports (baseball, fastpitch, track, girls’ golf, and boys’ soccer).
  • Our stadium and gym events will be live-streamed on our Woodland High School Athletics YouTube Channel. Catch the action here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfnE8luUCRFY9Gi9nfODocw
