First day of Hybrid Learning

This last week was our first and full week of Hybrid learning! You could tell not only were the students excited to be back, but so were the teachers. I got some word-of-mouth feedback from Cohort A, B, and all virtual students that are important to share. One thing I saw all across the board from both cohorts and virtual students is that their motivation for school has gone up. Though it has been one week, this is a huge step up from the lack of motivation we say during online learning. A mixed response I heard from students is the length of class periods. Some students love having longer class periods/normal length class periods, while other students are bored in class halfway through. I think this is something students aren’t adjusted to yet because it has almost been a full year of not experiencing a normal school day. The last thing I heard from not only students but teachers is difficulties in taking attendance. In every class, almost every teacher does it differently. The attendance taking takes a good chunk of the beginning class, and I know that time can be used more efficiently. Again I know this is still an adjusting period, but this was all the important feedback that was shared. Overall we’re excited to be back and hope it stays like this!
