January
Auto students have been repairing a transmission and finishing building engines.
Metals students have been cleaning and repairing a trailer for the Salmon Creek Lions Club.
Auto/welding club have been practicing for the upcoming competition.
February
The Automotive class is finishing the break-in procedure on two shop engines that they have rebuilt and they are also working on two other engine rebuilds.
The Metals class has been working on the Salmon Creek Lions BBQ trailer. They have reinforced the jack stands, added wind protection for the grills, cleaned, primed, and repainted the trailer, and are now working on a stencil to be painted on the trailer.
Auto/welding club has no new news to report.

Leadership competitions were completed at Fort Vancouver High on February 1st. Our students did very well, here are their placings in both Leadership and Technical contests:

Six WHS FFA Members wrote essays and completed applications for the FFA Foundation "Gift of Blue" jacket scholarship. All six applicants were awarded FFA Official jackets with their names, positions, and year embroidered on them. A scholarship worth approximately $100/student.
Floral classes are preparing marketing plans, distributing advertising, and creating seasonally themed arrangements for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday and Taste of Jazz event.
Horticulture students are in high propagation season in the greenhouse, creating hypertufa planters and propagating early season plants for the annual plant sale.
