The administration is recommending adding a clarifying statement to Policy 3122 in its definition of "Excused Absences" on page 5 of the policy.
The current policy states— 12: An approved activity that is consistent with district policy and is mutually agreed upon by the principal or designee and parent, guardian, or emancipated youth.
The proposal for revision to the policy is to add— 12: An approved activity that is consistent with district policy and is mutually agreed upon by the principal or designee and parent, guardian, or emancipated youth. Participation in driver education classes, practice drives, and/or driver examinations will not be considered excused absences,
