SkillsUSA

At the end of June, 4 students and Mrs. Miller traveled to Kentucky for SkillsUSA National competition and State Officer training. Brooke Shimmel and Caleb Mouat did well in their competitions, however, they did not place in the top ten. Katelyn Paulson Placed 5th in the Nation for Restaurant Service. Nansi Valenzuela was elected the State President for SkillsUSA and Katelyn Paulson was elected as the Executive Director of Social Outreach.

The club is just getting going for this year. Our elected officers are President- Katelyn Paulson, Vice President- Nansi Valenzuela, Secretary -Miracle Nault, Treasurer -Jasmine Erickson, Reporter - Caitlin Nelson, Parliamentarian - David Riley, ASB Rep.- Oliver Rosa.

Culinary

Students are working on food safety and earning 100% on their safety tests.

Early Childhood

Students are preparing the classroom with a theme of Aladdin and working on guidance and discipline techniques.

Health Sciences

The class is working on Medical Terminology and today will do a "Spud" Lab where they use all the dissection tools to dissect their spud man while practicing medical terminology and positions.

HOSA

Their first meeting of the year will be on Sept. 17th.

Horticulture

The FFA Members are attending their first Leadership Conference in Castle Rock Sept. 24 where they will interact with State Officers, attend leadership workshops, and collaborate with FFA Members from Districts 8 and 3. 

Horticulture

Classes are currently designing and building mobile herb gardens to provide fresh herbs for staff and Creative Chef classes.  

Advanced Floral 

Students are revving up in the Floral Shop, designing large centerpieces for the local Care Facility Grand Re-Opening as well as homecoming court bouquets. 

Skilled and Technical 

The students in the automotive classes are excited to be learning about engines and have started disassembling donated engines.

Metal

The students in beginning and advanced metals are practicing the different types of welds and then they will start designing their own projects.
